Tang Eng Iron Works, the predecessor of Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. was founded by Mr. Tang Eng in 1940 in Kaohsiung City and became a limited company in 1957. In 1962, the company became an enterprise owned by the Taiwan Provincial Government. In 1986, the headquarters were relocated from Kaohsiung City to Hsinchu County. In July 1999, the company was streamlined into a state-owned enterprise.
