There has been more than 80 years since the founding of Tang Eng Iron Works. Our mission of feeding back to the society has never been changed. We would really pay attention to our social responsibility, support charitable business, respond to charitable activities, and build the company culture of "caring for the underprivileged, feeding back to local communities" .Through sponsoring or supporting neighborhood communities for charitable or local events, appeal employees for participationof various charitable activities, and do our part in helping the society, we have earned the recognition and acknowledgement ofthe local communities.
While creating profits, increasing revenue and being responsible for shareholders' interests, enterprises should also undertake social responsibilities to employees, communities and the environment, including observing business ethics, improving production safety and employees' working environment, protecting the environment, supporting charitable causes, donating social welfare and helping underprivileged groups. As far as community and environmental social responsibility is concerned, our company meets the expectations of local communities and the public in many ways, through environmental protection issues, caring for the underprivileged, carrying forward culture, advocating sports activities and assisting community development activities. As a representative iron and steel company in Taiwan, Tang Eng contributes to Taiwan's economy, but also irrigates the land with love.
Tang Eng Iron Works would like to fulfill our social responsibility and hopefully through our effort, the underprivileged groups can get more caring and sponsorship, achieving the effect of our tiny contribution inducing more help for the charities from other companies and organizations. Our vision is through our energy saving and carbon reduction effort, greenhouse gas emission can be reduced effectively, the climate change impact can be lessened, and a beautiful living environment can be saved for our future generations.
One of the topics we pay attention to is the promotion of the environmental protection policies, especially in energy saving, carbon reduction, and environment greening simply because there is only one earth. If climate change cannot be controlled, abnormal heavy downpour, extreme drought, and broadening desertification would cause severe impact to social and economy activities and our safety and lives. The world would have to pay an enormous price if we leave it alone and do nothing. That is why Tang Eng Iron Works is striving for promoting energy saving and carbon reduction activities in neighborhood communities. Greening the communities would let the photosynthesis from the plants to absorb carbon dioxide to reduce carbon emission. To have a better environment for the future generations, protecting the earth ecology is an immediate responsibility that each of us has to shoulder.
Cultivating athletic talent requires a long time and significant funding. Since 2017, Tang Eng Company has successively donated to relevant sports events. The company hopes to promote table tennis through hosting such events, as Taiwan's table tennis must continue to lay deep roots to enable players to achieve good results in international competitions.

Zhongdu Tang Rong Brick Kiln Factory and Red Brick Office, with a long history, were designated as cultural preservation areas in 2005 because their chimneys and workshops were representative industrial sites that witnessed the industrial development of Kaohsiung. The facilities in the area include Hoffman Kiln, Nanbei Smoke Dome, Inverted Flame Kiln, Experimental Kiln, Tunnel Kiln and Red Brick Office, all of which are designated as national historic sites by the Ministry of Culture.
In response to the government's policy of promoting culture and encouraging people to get in touch with and know the brick kiln culture, The Company has opened the first phase of the factory area (tunnel kiln factory area) for people to visit for free all the year round. The area of the first phase of the factory area, including the surrounding access roads, is about 1,200 pings. According to the conservative estimation of the nearby rent of NT$ 400/ping/month, The Company provides about NT$ 5.76 million for cultural development venues every year. In addition, venues are provided from time to time to cooperate with Kaohsiung Cultural Bureau to handle related cultural promotion activities.
In recent years, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has hosted numerous cultural promotion activities here, guiding the public to appreciate the beauty of the brick kilns and understand the historical development of the brick kiln factory, which has garnered an enthusiastic response and provided a recreational space for the public.
To continue promoting the concept of cultural heritage preservation and to vitalize the historic site, the Kaohsiung City Cultural Affairs Bureau, in conjunction with the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival dance performance, held the cultural promotion event "Childhood Memories - Talking About Bricks and Kilns" from April 13 to April 14, 2024.
