Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tang Eng Company or the Company) has been publishing a Corporate Social Responsibility Report (CSR Report) annually since 2012.In 2022, in response to a request by the Financial Supervisory Commission, the Corporate Social Responsibility Report issued that year was renamed the Sustainability Report. This year's 2024 Sustainability Report is the 13th issue. In addition to a printed report issued every year, the report will be uploaded to the Taiwan Stock Exchange Market Observation Post System (MOPS) according to regulations. A special ESG section on sustainable development has also been set up on the official website of Tang Eng Company to publicize the actions and achievements of the Company in promoting sustainable development.
The information disclosure period of this report is from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.The content covers the various issues faced by Tang Eng Company in terms of the environment,society and corporate governance. This report is divided into 6 main chapters, including: 1. Steady and Sustainable Development, 2. Integrity Management and Governance, 3. Supply Chain Management, 4. Environmental Protection and Practice, 5. Workplace Safety and Care,and 6. Social Participation and Feedback. The main focus of this Report is on Environment,Social, (Corporate) Governance.
This report is compiled in accordance with GRI Universal Standards (2021) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), with reference to ISO 26000 guidelines, United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles, Taipei Exchange Rules Governing the Preparation and Filing of Sustainability Reports by TPEx Listed Companies, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and further makes use of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) as the basis for disclosure in this report.
The scope of data disclosed in this report covers the company's plant located in the Linhai Industrial Park, Kaohsiung City, and is compiled and edited by the Planning Department based on truthful submissions from each responsible unit in accordance with the company’s “Sustainability Report Preparation and Assurance Procedures.” The draft is reviewed and revised by the relevant departments, then submitted through administrative procedures to the President and Chairman for review, and finalized for publication after deliberation by the Board of Directors.
The Company's 2024 Sustainability Report, although not assured or certified by any external verification body, is subject to a rigorous internal review mechanism. The compilation process of the Report is incorporated into the internal control system to ensure the accuracy of its content. In order to ensure the correctness of the report, the cost and accounting information of the financial report is checked and confirmed by accountants, while the quality, health and safety, as well as environmental management systems, have also been checked and verified by relevant certification agencies, as listed below:
The 20th Board of Directors of Tang Eng Company was elected at the shareholders’ meeting on June 25, 2024. On the same day, the newly elected independent directors formed the 20th Audit Committee. The convener of the first board meeting convened the board on July 9, 2024, where Director Mr. Jian-Zai Zhao was elected as Chairman. In addition, the former second-level unit “Environmental Protection Section” was reorganized into a first-level unit named “Department of Environmental Protection.” There were no other significant restatements of information during the reporting period.
